FAQ2019-10-02T15:57:49+02:00
What is the difference between a series and parallel connection?2019-10-04T10:55:41+02:00

Does your warranty cover ‘dirty water’?2019-10-04T10:55:32+02:00

No. The warranty is for factory faults only. If the water conditions are sub-par it will damage the motor over time because resistance will build up. A good analogy is that if you put dirty petrol into your car, the engine won’t last as long as if you put the best petrol. The DC range has a helical rotor which will act as protection to avoid motor damage. This is an inexpensive component that can be replaced every 6 months if you have sub par water conditions. The MultiFlow range of pumps work with stages and handles dirty water a bit better than the DC Pump range.

Can I add any panels to your pumps?2019-10-14T07:45:41+02:00

No.

We have tried and tested configurations that work within the limits of your controller. Not adhering to these configurations can cause damage to the controller or motor.  We also only use the recommended grade A solar modules. If you already have panels and want to check compatibility with our pumps, please speak to our technical team.

Should I put a sensor in the well (borehole)?2019-10-04T10:55:20+02:00

Yes! If a solar borehole pump is installed without a well sensor then your warranty is void. It is required for every important to install a dry-run sensor. Some of our pump ranges have built in protections, others need an additional sensor. Please contact our technical department for more information.

Which submersible cable do you use to avoid voltage loss?2019-10-04T10:55:13+02:00

Length 0 – 60 meters use 4mm submersible cable (3 core).
• Length 61 meters – 120 meters use 6mm submersible cable (3 core).
• Above 120 meters use a 10mm submersible cable.
• NB! Do not use 2,5 mm submersible cable under any circumstances.

What is included in the basic kit? What extras do I need?2019-10-04T10:55:07+02:00

Included in DC pump set:

  • Pump (motor & wet-end)
  • Controller
  • Spare Rotor
  • Solar PV Modules
  • 1 x run-dry sensor

Extras Needed (Also supplied by us)

  • 3-core submersible cable (4mm / 6mm)

How does a DC solar pump work?2019-10-04T10:55:59+02:00

Solar Panels are made up of photo voltaic (PV) cells. These cells convert sunlight into direct current (DC) electricity throughout the day when the sun shines. The Control Box monitors water levels in the well and water tank and switches the pump on and off. This ensures the pump only pumps water when needed. The submersible pump goes into the borehole and pumps water to the water tank.

How do you prevent solar panel theft?2019-10-02T18:36:32+02:00

Theft of the panels can be eliminated by installing the panels high above the ground (4m – 6m) and fixing them well to the frame. Informing your insurance company about your installation will also cover you. Ask your local installer for the best solution, you can also contact us and we can share with you what works for our clients.
